so a couple weeks ago i cut my hair real short like it was my junior year of high school. Every time i go to get my hair cut, i look through those hair styling books to try to find a good example of the kind of hair cut i want, but of course all the women in those books have hairstyles out of a bad 80's horror flick, so you know, the pickins are kinda slim. so i decided i'd bring in an old photo of myself from that time to show the lady, so i'd get the hair cut i wanted. anyway, i couldnt remember where my old photos were and the only one i could find was a picture of me when I was 16 at an ostrich farm in sweden, holding up my stuffed ostrich to a real ostrich. (yes, I owned a stuffed ostrich, and yes, I took it to a real ostrich farm. And yes, I also took a photo) i was like, oh lord, i cannot believe i have to bring this photo in, but hey, better than getting some scary 80's mullet hair cut. So the lady who is cutting my hair is this hilarious Korean woman, and the minute i show her my photo she looks at me a little weird and go "ahhhh....what ees that? is that bird?" i was like, "yes, um, that's an ostrich, and thats how i want my hair. I mean, i dont want my hair like the ostrich, i want my hair like that" (pointing to me with the stuffed ostrich) I mean, the lady must have thought i was insane. Then we had a jolly talk about ostriches, she told me she had never seen or heard of one before and so I was happy to clarify. Fortunately i got my hair cut and it looks super cute and I dont have a mullet. yay!
